Hey....., What's in that food?
A resource for Kosher eating.

The Bible gives us a lot of instruction on eating a healthy diet. The recent success of the book called, "The Maker's Diet" has produced a lot of newcomers to a Kosher way of eating. Health professionals and scientific studies confirm that what you eat does make a difference in how you feel and respond to life. Purchasing products that have a Hecsher (that little symbol that defines it as Kosher) does not necessarily mean that the product is healthy, but it does make life a little easier when you want to keep a Biblical diet and avoid foods that the Bible calls unclean.

If you really want to know what's in your food, then it will require some research and effort to clearly understand the food source of all those long (un-pronouncable) names. One example of confusion has to do with the term "Natural Flavoring." The legal definition of natural flavoring simply means it can come from a plant or animal source and some of those sources don't sound very appetizing. When in doubt about what a product contains, call the company directly and ask them to clarify what is in their product. You'll be shocked at some of the things you'll find lurking in your favorite foods. Shame on the the food industry for trying to disguise those ingredients with names that can be misleading.

In a effort to help you along, we wanted to offer you some web site links for review. There are literally hundreds of other sources. We do not necessarily endorse all the content of these sites. But, we think you will find a good deal of help and have a better understanding of Kosher eating and just what's in that food!
